I was totally seduced by the name Purple Haze Hybrid while shopping for seeds this spring. I mean, with a description like that you expect the roots to start singing, or to transport you to another dimension at the very least.
Thanks to Greg's double digging they have grown quite well. Check out the crazy carrot that grew perfectly around a stone! I steamed some fingerling potatoes (from Top Banana) with our homegrown golden beats and turnips, then sautéed them in some olive oil with dill from the back deck herb box! Yes! Garnished some garlicky green beans with Red Barn Spicey Globe Basil et voila: un repas simple et psychédélique!
I think I might plant the Purple Haze again. They don't taste too crazy but they sure are pretty!
why bother. Try somethig tasty and throw looks to the wind. In fact, if this carrot were a unicorn, I bet it would spend all of it's time posing on a windy cliff. How tasty is that?!!?
